The Bridge to Holy Cross - Paullina Simons 9/10

It did not take me long to get stuck into the sequel to 'The Bronze Horseman' which Paullina Simons once again proves her enormous talent as a writer. Although a great read, this book revisits the past a lot which I found to segment the story at times. There were moments when I really wanted to find out about what was happening in the current time (of the story) but I had to first spend a chapter re-reading about the past which I had already knew about from 'The Bronze Horseman' (This is also due to me being too impatient to find out what happens next!). 'The Bridge to Holy Cross' is one of those books where I would take any opportunity to read a  page or two as it was so enthralling that I was always left wanting more. This book is also titled 'Tatiana and Alexander'.

The Bronze Horseman - Paullina Simons: 9.5/10

This book captured my heart from the first pages and took me on a journey through life in Russia during WWII. This book has so much insight and detail into the Soviet Union that learning about Russian life in WWII is just as captivating as the epic love story of Tatiana and Alexander. Tatiana and Alexander meet in a twisted chance of fate that spirals through this story and constantly leaves you NEEDING to know what happens next. Paullina Simons has given the characters such depth that you can't help but get emotionally involved (or in my case overly-emotionally involved) to the book and quickly sucks you into the character's world. It is a must read that will leave you wanting more which you can have  as there is the sequence titled 'The Bridge to Holy Cross' (AKA Tatiana and Alexander). This book is fantastic for when you have a lot of time on your hands because you will not be able to put it down.

I have had a love of books from a young age and started this blog so I can now finally share my thoughts on some fantastic or not so fantastic reads. I generally ready popular fiction or autobiographies, however I dabble in a lit of everything (wait...that's a lie, I have never read a sci fi novel) with some of my favourite authors being Paullina Simons, Monica McInerney and J.K Rowling.  I want this blog to be a place where avid readers can come to to get some suggestions for books to read and maybe encourage those who do not usually read to pick up a book.
